AYSO Winter League 2008

 

Arrangements are currently being made for the AYSO Winter League 2008 season. San Carlos will be fielding teams for boys and girls in the U10, U12 and U14 divisions.  AYSO Winter league is a competitive program involving teams from other Area 2N cities (Belmont, San Mateo, Redwood City, Half Moon Bay, Hillsborough, Burlingame, and Foster City).

All interested San Carlos Fall 2007 registered AYSO players are invited to try-out for this program. Players for this program are selected on a try-out basis. There is no guarantee that any player will be selected for a team. The number of teams formed will be based on the number of available coaches, interested players, and field availability. Where multiple teams are formed in a given division, balanced teams from the pool of selected players will be created using a division draft.

 

The tryout for Winter League is scheduled for Sunday, December 2nd, 2007, at Carlmont High School. Player selection will take place within the week following the try-out. Weekday practices will begin shortly thereafter. Games will be scheduled from January through March, weather permitting. Winter League play requires commitment and flexibility as it very often involves playing in inclement weather and adjusting to last minute field changes.

 

In addition, there is a financial commitment for players to cover league administrative costs, uniforms, and field use. For players who are selected, the registration fee this year will be approximately 35.00.  Additional costs for the San Carlos team uniform, optional team warm-up suit, and bag should also be considered. The approximate price for the basic uniform will be 45.00.

Tryouts will be held rain or shine on the all-weather field at Carlmont. 




Players will be notified of their status by their respective coaches within 2 days of the completion of the tryouts. Players selected will be expected to confirm their commitment to play when contacted by the coaching staff.  

In order to facilitate the sign-in process, we are requesting that interested players arrive at the field 45 minutes prior to their scheduled tryout time. The sign-in table will be located by the main quad clock tower area, which is just above the soccer field.

A make-up tryout date is currently scheduled for December 3rd if your child cannot participate due to illness or unexpected circumstances.  Please email me for more info on the make-up no later than 6pm on December 2, 2007.
